For those seeking an introduction to the basic principles of sailing, without the "pressures" of exams and A.S.A. certification, we offer the Resort Course. This eight hour (1 eight hour day or 2 four hour days) course is taught on stable (not capsizing) Victory 21' and J-24' sailboats and students will experience hands on instruction with zero classroom time. This exciting program is all about being on the water and having fun! Curriculum includes nautical terminology, rules of the road, sail trim and shape, reefing, crew teamwork and responsibilities, docking under sail, safety procedures, points of sail, tacking/jibing, knots and crew overboard rescue techniques.

By submitting your 100% non-refundable deposit, you recognize The Sailing School’s Cancellation Policy: Cancellation of any sailing program scheduled with The Santa Barbara Sailing Center results in 100% of class tuition forfeiture (your deposit).  

Change of Date Policy:
A change of date fee requires a $50 charge per person for all sailing classes, except for Liveaboard Instructional Vacation Programs, which constitutes a $100 charge per person. A change of date request must be made no less than 30 calendar days prior to your scheduled program, or you will forfeit your deposit.
