If you are a party of two, and would like to bring kids, they are free.

If you are planning to make your own arrangements at a hotel, instead of living aboard a cruising yacht, the cost of the liveaboard instructional vacation will still remain the same. We may, however, be able to save you hotel costs at certain hotels.

If you would like your meals catered for you during your program, please contact the School Director to discuss your options and additional costs. Otherwise, you are able to prepare your own meals here at our training facility, as well as take advantage of our wonderful assortment of over 300 restaurants in the Santa Barbara area.

For an additional fee, you may upgrade the size of your yacht for ASA 103 and/or 104.

During ASA 104, you will experience a 2 day trip to Santa Cruz Island with an overnight anchorage.

If you are flying, The Santa Barbara Airport is ideal (United, Skywest and Horizon). If you are flying into LAX, The Santa Barbara Airbus provides excellent shuttle service.

If you have not completed the required reading before your arrival, or are not a valid candidate to test out of a given level, we may have to alter your program's formula. In any case, our goal is to provide the best instruction possible, even if we have to adapt a new game plan.

Please inform the school director of any physical limitations that you may have prior to your arrival.

Scheduling Procedures at SBSC:
As you may have noticed, our sailing school does not currently post a calendar of available class dates on our website. This is because when scheduling classes at our facility, we can usually accommodate your desired dates most of the time. When finalizing your sailing school agenda, the School Director will work closely with you to make sure that the program fits within your “window of time”, specific dates or general availability.

The Santa Barbara Sailing Center's School Cancellation Policy:
By submitting your 100% non-refundable payment, you recognize The Sailing School's Cancellation Policy: Cancellation results in 100% of class tuition forfeiture.

Change of Date Policy:
A change of date fee requires a $50 charge per person for all sailing classes, except for Liveaboard Instructional Vacation Programs, which constitutes a $100 charge per person. A change of date request must be made no less than 30 calendar days prior to your scheduled program, or you will forfeit your deposit.
