Congratulations
on discovering our Sailing School's Liveaboard
Instructional Vacations. The following is
a brief description about our location,
as well as a link to our package options
and costs.
The Santa Barbara Sailing Center is one of the largest accredited sailing schools in the nation and issues American Sailing Association student certifications. We have over 40 charter boats in our program with a large staff of instructors with impressive teaching resumes. Our world class location has many benefits, including The California Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary and National Park, located just 23 miles off our coastline. |

We also have whales that frequent our waters year round, fine restaurants and shopping a walk away from your yacht and the white sand beaches on both sides of the harbor. Learn more about Santa Barbara Here. The Santa Barbara Channel makes for a challenging and beautiful area to learn to sail and cruise. Here it is not uncommon to have winds in excess of 25 to 30 knots with 4-8 foot seas out in the channel while the inner waters, within a couple of miles of the coastline, experience a gentle 10 to 12 knots and 1-2 foot seas. |
| With the broad spectrum of sailing conditions accessible within the Santa Barbara area, we are able to accommodate sailors of all levels. Your confidence in yourself, and your yacht to withstand heavy conditions, will be unsurpassed after your experience sailing around the Channel Islands. Our class format is extremely informative, and we are certain that you'll be well educated and prepared to sail anywhere in the world. Our curriculum far exceeds the requirements of overseas charter companies, and even the American Sailing Association itself. |
